Ong Ku Koe

Ong Ku Koe (red tortoise cakes) are very traditional and common pastries in Taiwan and other Chinese regions. They are made of glutinous rice and got this name because they look like red tortoise shells, with the implications of good fortune, fame, and longevity. The Taiwan Chorus chose red tortoise cakes as the theme of its concert to re-interpret some traditional Taiwanese folksongs. In the aspect of the design, we adopted Chinese calligraphy handwriting to present the quality and strength of hand-made cakes, plus the image of the wooden mode used for production, showing the traditional and modern atmosphere through two bright colors, red and green.
